Next Generation Against Corruption: A Youth-Led Response

Supported by the Embassy of Canada for Serbia, North Macedonia, and Montenegro

The project “Next Generation Against Corruption: A Youth-Led Response” aims to enhance youth and civil society engagement in combating corruption through innovative approaches and digital tools that improve the effectiveness of anti-corruption efforts.

In North Macedonia, young people often encounter corruption in various aspects of daily life—from education to employment—yet they lack the knowledge and means to recognize and respond to it. Local civil society organizations also face capacity gaps in supporting youth to take on a proactive role.

Through this project, Analytica Think Tank will:

  1. Equip young people with tools to detect and prevent corruption and familiarize them with the work of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (SCPC).

  2. Strengthen local CSOs’ capacities to implement youth-focused anti-corruption initiatives.

  3. Inspire youth to develop responsible, moral, and creative responses to corruption through non-traditional actions.

Main activities include a youth perception survey on corruption, preparation of a policy document, training for 20 youth anti-corruption agents, youth forums and public debates across three municipalities (Skopje, Strumica, and Gostivar), a social media campaign titled “Young people are not a link in the chain of corruption!”, local guerrilla actions, and a final conference.

Expected results: enhanced knowledge and engagement of young people in anti-corruption efforts, publication of key findings and recommendations, development of an educational mobile app for reporting corruption, and strengthened civil society capacity for sustainable youth-driven integrity initiatives.
