In 2025, Analytica Think Tank proudly marks 20 years of public service, research, and advocacy. Two decades of bold ideas, fact-based analysis, and relentless dedication to better policies and stronger democratic practices – in North Macedonia and across the Western Balkans.

We began in 2005 as a small but ambitious initiative – driven by a multi-ethnic vision, shared democratic values, and a belief that independent thinking matters. Born in a time when civil society was still emerging, Analytica was created to fill a gap: to speak truth to power through evidence, to bring forward policy solutions rooted in research, and to empower citizens in shaping public life.

From modest beginnings to regional relevance

Since then, Analytica has grown into one of the most trusted think tanks in the region. We became known not only for our expertise in security, EU integration, and energy policy, but also for entering policy spaces rarely explored by civil society – such as tobacco taxation, informal economy, cybersecurity in schools, and multicultural youth engagement.

Our work has led to:

 Over 100 published policy analyses

 60+ events, roundtables, and conferences

 Dozens of regional partnerships and cross-border initiatives

 Meaningful influence on public debates, policies, and institutional practices

But beyond numbers, Analytica is its people: researchers, interns, visiting fellows, collaborators, and supporters – each of whom left a mark, a voice, or a written word that shaped who we are today.

Our values never changed

In a landscape where compromise is often expected, our compass remained constant:

• Independence – from political pressure and donor agendas
• Integrity – grounded in rigorous, unbiased research
• Commitment – to inclusive, citizen-focused public policies

We believe that knowledge must be accessible. Our publications have always been free of charge and open to all – because ideas should never be behind a paywall. Research is a public good, and our role is to make it useful, usable, and impactful.

Looking back, moving forward

We are deeply thankful to all who contributed to our journey – from the visionary founders and early supporters, to the young researchers who today carry the mission forward. In a region where institutions often come and go, Analytica has endured – not by chance, but by principle.
