Within the Energy and Infrastructure Programme, Analytica organized its First International Graduate Student Workshop on the topic of “Energy and Climate Change – Southeast Europe in focus”. The participants at the workshop were professors, PhD candidates and post-graduate students from Macedonia and abroad, giving presentations on the topics of Climate Change Mitigation, Renewable Energy Technologies, Energy Efficiency and Regional Cooperation.

Our aim with this event was to show that in the time of global concern over the issues of climate change, energy security and environment protection, Macedonia and the SEE region are not lagging behind. That the academia, the young scholars and the NGO sector are actively involved in this field, follow the newest developments and work together in combating the issues and development of new framework for action and mitigation of climate change.

The Graduate Student Workshop was the first of this type that Analytica has organized. It was a pilot project for Analytica. We would like to build on the experience of this workshop and to establish a large international student conference on an annual basis in the years to come.
